Digipak Construction - Inside Spine

The inside spine of the digipak needed to blend in with the rest of the inside of the digipak so I decided to use the image of the amber sky as the background. I imported the image into photoshop and dragged it onto the template and then experimented with the opacity and saturation tools until i was completely happy with the way it looked.

These are some of the images that were produced from me experimenting with effects on photoshop for the background of the inside spine.

For this image I used a smudge tool to make the image darker and slightly blurred.

This is the final image for the inside spine.

Digipak Construction - outside spine

When deciding on a background for the outside spine of the digipak I wanted it to be consistent with both the front of the digipak but also the inside, so I decided to use the same background that I used on the band thank-you's but in black and white so that it blended in with the front well.

when adding the background I made sure that I positioned it so that the amber lights were visible.

I made sure that the font was the same as the rest of the fonts across the ancillary products. I also made sure it was the same colour as the rest of the writing on the digipak.

Digipak Construction - Inside Section

When deciding what to put on the inside sections of the digipak, I considered the consistency across the digipak and website and decided to edit a photo of an amber sky on photo shop. I also considered the front sections of the digipak so I made it quite dark. Although it is lighter shades that the front I think it is still consistent as it relates to the website, the band name and is also consistent with the band thank-you's section which will also be on the inside.

This is the image I started off with. It is also the background image on our website.

I experimented with the opacity of the image aswell as different effects so that I could be sure that I was completely happy with my final image.

To edit the photo I layered an amber pattern over the image and then used the multiply tool on photoshop to create the effect I was looking for. I then played around with the opacity of the image until it was just right.

This is the final image that I ended up with.

Construction of the digipak - band thank you's

When making the inside of the digipak I used a photo that I had taken of the sky and street lights at night for the background. I thought that this would be an appropriate image to use because it shows a different 'amber sky'.

I enhanced the amber colour of the sky in this image by putting an amber patterned image over the top on photoshop and lowering the opacity.

I then downloaded the font that we have used across the digipak and music video from dafont.com.

After downloading the font I started adding text to the image using photoshop. I wrote 'thank you's' from the band to their fans. This part of the digipak will be featured on the inside.

I made the font white as this is what colour the font will be across the whole digipak.

Website construction - Merchandise

To make the images of the merchandise on the store page of the website I got pictures of plain jumpers and t-shirts off the internet and put text and images over them.

Website Construction - adding gallery

To showcase the photo's of the band and of the band filming I have added in Slider Gallery's. I have added on on the home page to feature the main pictures of the band members and one on the 'gallery page' to show the other pictures.

Many professional bands use these sliders to feature their photo's on their websites.

Website construction - adding social networking logo's

To make my website look more professional I chose to add pictures of logo's of social networking sites to the home page, with titles telling the audience to visit the band of these sites.

I have seen this done on many signed artists' and bands' websites.

Website Construction - adding pages

When constructing the website I decided to have a different page for each part instead of showcasing it all on the home page. I chose to do this because it was a more conventional way of doing it and it looks more professional as a whole website.

As I have added different pages I also needed to have a navigation tool for the pages on the home page. I chose to position this in the centre of the home page below the title because it will then catch people's eye and encourage them to view them.

After adding the navigation tool, I then linked all of the pages up and linked all of the titles on the different pages back to the home page. I did this so that people can return here once they have viewed that page.

I then went on to do this to all of the pages.

Construction of website

Whilst constructing the website I knew it was important to show the image of the band. I decided to stick to the colour scheme of our music video and the costumes of the band, grey, red, white and black. By sticking to these colours I can show the consistency across the product as a whole.

I also chose to stick to the same font throughout the website. I think that this is an appropriate font as it fits in with the bands genre and I have seen it on similiar bands' websites.

These screen shots show how the fonts I have used on my website are similar to that on this website. Asking Alexandria are a band that fall into the same genre as Amber Skies.

Title on music video

I decided that my music video would most likely be played on channels such as MTV, Scuzz and Kerrang. For the title featured in my music video and the beginning and end I decided to go with MTV.

This is the title I remade for my music video.

This is my remake of the title featured in my music video.

First Draft of Website

This is my first draft of my website. I experimented with different colours and fonts and also uploaded the track. However I decided that I wasn't completely happy with this design so I started on a new website before I had completed this one.
