Meeting the band

Today I met the members of As Worlds Collide for the first time. Sophie and I got the train to Chatham and met them there. We discussed all of our ideas with them and also got their opinion of each song and their own ideas for a music video. We asked them to explain what the lyrics of the songs mean in more detail aswell to help us link our ideas more successfully to the lyrics of the song. After explaining all of our ideas to them, they too agreed that our idea for Halfway Home was the better idea to carry out.

First Ideas

So far me and Sophie have come up with three main ideas for three different songs all by the unsigned band As Worlds Collide. Today we discussed each idea in detail and decided on which ones are more likely to work. The three songs that we are considering using are The show is over, Battle Scars and Halfway Home. After looking into each idea we both felt that our idea for Halfway Home was the strongest and the one we both thought was the best.

Research into different music videos

I have been looking at different music videos in different genres. The two videos that I decided to analyse were Jessie.J - Nobodys Perfect and Natasha Bedingfield - Unwritten. I chose these videos because they are both very different but both have performance and narrative in them which is what me and Sophie are thinking about doing for our music video. Natasha Bedingfield's Unwritten is a conceptual video and it was interesting to look at the different types of music videos.
